Stress Accent Diacritic

Postby alfametheus » May 15th, 2010, 6:37 pm

Hello to all,

I have a question about one of the exercises on the forum (the one that you write words for the first time, after completing all the pronunciation exercises).

I tried typing using the lakota keyboard, but every word came out as wrong (even though I knew that it was spelled correctly). I am suspecting that I need the accent stress diacritic but have not found a way how to do it. Should I use a combo button?

Please help!

Hello Alfa,

You need two keystrokes to type the stressed vowels. We explain how to do it in this topic:

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19

Here is an excerpt:

For stressed vowels type the vowel followed by apostrophe.

á type a'
é type e'
í type i'
ó type o'
ú type u'

I hope this helps!
