The Kevin Locke prayer song is wonderful!!! I want to transcribe the melody and the words. Alas, my sound quality is poor even with a Skype-quality headset. Mr. Locke may have been singing quietly so as not to disturb others. Where can I find this song?

We have copious recorded readings on this forum, and perhaps a corresponding music library wouldn't go amiss. I for one wouldn't mind getting into such a project.

A music library! What a wonderful idea. I was just wondering about songs to teach my kids, lulabys, etc. Anyone else like Stephen's idea?

Jim, Lakota lullabies are hard to find nowdays, very few were recorded in the old days and even fewer survived among contemporary Lakota speakers. The LLC is about to publish a CD with children songs and nursery rymes, a collection of both old and newly adapted Lakota songs, including the new Lakota alphabet song.
